As marriage proposals go viral these days, it is hard to come up with a new and surprising way to pop the question.
A bold boyfriend spent a month secretly proposing to his girlfriend before she finally said YES. This unusual proposal goes viral on the internet.
Edi Okoro, 30, from Hertfordshire, bought a diamond ring earlier this year, but still wanted to take it slow to eventually give it to his girlfriend, 28-year-old Cally Read. He decided he would carry the ring with him wherever the couple went.
So, he began playfully snapping photos of the ring in the presence of his fiancée-to-be to see if she’d notice.
He knew she might catch him at any moment, but was confident she’d say yes once she found him in the act.
However, she didn’t notice, and eventually, he pops the question to her, and after all of this effort, she said the magic word “yes.”
He explained his non-proposal on Facebook, saying: “You want to propose in a way that speaks to you as a person or a couple.
He added: “Some plan a flash mob, a fancy meal, or even arrange a marry me a sign. I couldn’t do this because ‘I can’t plan ‘… I’m a spontaneous improviser.”
He explained to MailOnline: “Because of this I took the ring with me everywhere hoping to find the perfect ‘moment’ that goes with my spontaneous style.
“After waiting a month for the big day, I was sitting on the sofa admiring ‘my precious’ (the ring). Cally almost caught me staring at the ring, and it hit me, I came up with this crazy thought that I should start documenting these missed opportunities and moments.”
Eventually, “The idea was to take as many photos as possible, in various scenarios, until I found the perfect moment to propose.
It gets awkward when the ring was in plain sight, and even sticking it into her hand while she slept.
Although the exact method remains a secret, on Aug. 31, Okoro confirmed with a photo that he and Read were finally, officially engaged.
He shared a happy picture of him and his fiancée wearing the FAMOUS ring. He says he never did get caught and added that his now-fiancée didn’t learn about his game until “several weeks later.”
However, we didn’t know how the eventual proposal looked like, but Edi assured everyone it is ‘just as good of a story.
