First They Killed My Father (20/20)

This film is initially a bio historical film that was directed by Angelina Jolie and was written by Loung Ung, based on Ung’s memoir of the same name.

In 1975, the film depicted the life of the 7-year-old Ung that was forced to be trained as a child soldier while her siblings are sent to labor camps during the Communist Khmer Rouge regime.

There were local Cambodian children with no previous acting experience in the casting.  They connect their own painful experiences with those presented in the movie for more authentic aspect.
