This film is based on a true story. Fruitvale Station is about a series of events which leads to the death of Oscar Grant. He is a young black man who was killed in 2009 by a white police officer in Oakland. 

 The famous actor Michael B. Jordan acted as Oscar Grant with Kevin Durand and Chad Michael Murray.
