Wild is a film based on the journey of a woman’s solo hike undertaken as a way to recover from a recent personal tragedy. 

The film is based on Cheryl Strayed’s 2012 memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail. 

Reese Witherspoon acted as Strayed, alongside Laura Dern (as Strayed’s mother).
